Our neighbour recently
acquired a rather dashing ginger Tom cat called Harry, like our
little cat Moth he was found straying and hungry. For some months he
was kept indoors, then a few weeks ago Harry was released upon the
world,and upon our little ladies.
Harry is
beautiful, brash, thick skinned, playful and adorable and out cats
hated him on sight! It pained us all to be obliged to chase him away
or refuse him entry into the house in wet weather, the problem is that
he seems to dislike his own home and has as good as move out.
This is not the fault
of his owners, they love all animals,I think that it has much more to
do
with the fact that
they have two enormous dogs and we have two very delectable female
cats.
He eats most of his
meals here and refuses to return home in spite of the fact that his
owners are
calling him day and
night, now I am concerned that they will think that we are attempting
to cat nap Harry.
Over the last two days
out cats have become noticeably less aggressive towards the young
Prince and there is now little or no hissing when he appears. |He
even eats out of their respective food bowls without occasioning an
almighty bust up as was formerly the case.
Today, Harry sat on the
sofa with Twiggy and she merely grumbled a little......who would have
believed it. Later he spent half an hour upstairs with both of our
cats without any fighting what-so-ever,a thing impossible only two
short days ago.
Harry is very partial
to cat nip and roles in ecstasy on the rug when ever he finds some,he
loves to be cuddled and he loves to play,
I have no idea what we
are to do but I feel that I shall have to speak to his owners, if
only to let them know where he is spending his time. With luck all
will be well and Harry will be allowed to visit,I do hope so ,we are
all becoming rather fond of him.
