Having spent the day
gallivanting about the neighbourhood ,photographing tree work in
progress and choosing paint for my room ,I needed a quick tasty meal
for my hungry boys
For the meat balls
1lb steak mince
2 large onions finely
chopped
2 cloves of garlic
crushed
a little salt and
pepper.
2 teaspoons of Italian
herbs
2 tablespoons of olive
oil
Put all the ingredients
in to a bowl and mix well. Divide into 24 small balls and set aside.
For the sauce
1 tin of tomatoes
chopped
3 tablespoons of tomato
purree
1 table spoon of olive
oil
salt
pepper
1 heaped teaspoon of
granulated sugar.
Put all the ingredients
in to a saucepan and bring to the boil, simmer for fifteen minutes.
Fry the meatballs until
golden brown the transfer then to the sauce and simmer for about 10
-15 minutes.
Serve with spaghetti or
spoon over penne if you prefer.
Top with a few
parmigiana shavings and add a side salad and some garlic bread if
you are extra hungry.
