THE RETURN OF THE STONE

Kidney stones are an infernal nuisance, they are also extremely painful. In these modern times it is not always necessary to have surgery to remove the little perishers, that,s the good news.
The bad news is that the incredibly painful treatment, which involves having your kidneys blasted by sound waves ,and which can take many visits to the torture chamber;while it blasts the little buggers to smithereens it leaves behind small chips of stone, many small chips!

These remain and if not passed another painful business they can grow larger and if they become too large to pass you are back to square one, which is were I now find myself.

In anticipation of a period just swallowing pills and groaning I made a huge cherry and almond cake for the boys, shelved any plans I had to spend the Bank Holiday and resigned my self to taking it easy for a few days.
If I am lucky the stone will pass,if I am not then a spell in hospital beckons as the kind of pain relief needed to combat this problem has to be administered in hospital. There is also the risk of infection,a particular problem with me and one which ,some years ago, almost killed me.

My apologies for the “cheerful tone” of this blog ,I am ,as you can imagine distinctly dis-chuffed.

On the plus side Pa is feeling better today and my son is spending the weekend in the company of his friends, which pleases my very much. In spite of his writing schedule he socialises much more no he no longer works nights for E Scrooge and Co!

I wish you one and all a wonderful weekend full of adventure and rest and relaxation, what ever your heart craves.
